Philippines, July 2025 – Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) has appointed Reginaldo “Reggie” Cariaso as its new president and chief executive officer, effective 1 July 2025. He succeeds Eugene Acevedo, who stepped down after a six-year tenure and will remain on the bank’s board of directors.
Cariaso, who previously served as head of operations and deputy CEO, brings nearly three decades of banking experience across the Philippines and Hong Kong. His past roles include senior posts at JP Morgan and the Bank of the Philippine Islands.
In a statement, Cariaso said RCBC would deepen its push into digital by prioritising customer-centric innovation: “We want to deliver meaningful financial experiences, where all our systems, data, channels, and products work together as one cohesive solution. We don’t want to be just transactional—we want to build platforms, partnerships, and payment systems that drive long-term value.”
Acevedo, who led RCBC through a period of rapid digitalisation, expressed confidence in his successor’s ability to build on the bank’s momentum:
“Reggie’s global experience and digital-first mindset will help take RCBC to new heights. I’m confident that under his leadership, the bank will continue to grow stronger and smarter.”
As of March 2025, RCBC ranked as the sixth-largest bank in the Philippines, with total assets of PHP 1.51 trillion.
