Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has signed cooperation agreements with QNB Group and Doha Bank to streamline company formation and bank account opening through the Single Window platform, strengthening investor services and public-private collaboration.
Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has signed two cooperation agreements with QNB Group and Doha Bank as part of its efforts to deepen collaboration between the public and private sectors and to enhance investor services delivered through the Single Window platform. The agreements were signed by Mubarak Abdulrahman Al Khulaifi, Director of the Single Window Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, alongside Ismail Mandani Al Emadi, Executive Vice-President of SME Banking at QNB Group, and Yousef Abdullah Al Meer, Deputy Chief of Strategy and Transformation at Doha Bank.
In a statement, the ministry said that under the agreement with QNB Group, the bank will provide eligible investors with the ability to open bank accounts through the Single Window platform, in line with applicable laws and procedures. This integration is intended to accelerate the company formation process, reduce reliance on manual and paper-based transactions and contribute to the simplification and development of business registration procedures.
The agreement highlights QNB Group’s role in supporting the business environment and strengthening cooperation with government entities by offering banking solutions designed to facilitate company establishment and improve the overall investor experience. The bank said these initiatives align with its ongoing support for Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly efforts to build a diversified and sustainable economy through innovation and closer public-private integration.
Al Khulaifi said the agreement with QNB forms part of a broader series of partnerships being concluded with banks operating in Qatar, aimed at expanding cooperation with the financial sector and easing procedures for investors. He added that the move further reinforces the Single Window platform’s position as the primary gateway for establishing businesses in the country and supports the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 in promoting sustainable economic development.
A separate agreement between the ministry and Doha Bank is also designed to strengthen cooperation by enabling companies to open bank accounts through the Single Window platform during the establishment phase. The initiative is expected to reduce dependence on manual and paper-based processes while speeding up the completion of related procedures.
Al Khulaifi said the partnership with Doha Bank reflects the ministry’s commitment to consolidating the Single Window platform as a comprehensive and central destination for investors, in line with national development goals. He added that the ministry continues to prioritise strategic partnerships that simplify procedures, accelerate transactions and enhance the investment environment, thereby supporting sustainable economic growth.
Yousef Abdullah Al Meer said the introduction of the service forms part of Doha Bank’s cooperation with the ministry and its wider approach to developing services for different customer segments. He added that the initiative will enable companies, particularly newly established businesses, to access banking services more quickly and efficiently, supporting their integration into economic activity and strengthening their contribution to national development.
