Danske Bank is making its largest-ever wealth management investment with Butterfly™, a new advisory solution that combines its investment expertise with BlackRock’s Aladdin Wealth™ platform to deliver more proactive and personalised advice to affluent private clients.
Danske Bank is making its largest-ever investment in wealth management with the launch of a new advisory solution aimed at affluent private clients. Called Butterfly™, the solution combines Danske Bank’s investment expertise with BlackRock’s Aladdin Wealth™ technology platform to provide clients with more proactive and relevant investment advice.
The new solution is designed to strengthen how Danske Bank supports clients with their investment decisions. By bringing together the bank’s experience in wealth management and BlackRock’s technology, Butterfly™ aims to give advisers better tools to assess portfolios and identify investment opportunities that match clients’ needs.
This addresses growing demand from affluent clients for more personalised investment advice. Wealth management is becoming increasingly technology-driven, with banks using data and investment platforms to help advisers provide faster and more tailored recommendations while maintaining a strong focus on the individual client.
For Danske Bank, the investment also marks a wider effort to improve its wealth management offering. The bank said Butterfly™ represents another significant step towards delivering advice that is more proactive and relevant, while building on its long-standing investment capabilities.
The partnership with BlackRock also brings the Aladdin Wealth™ platform into Danske Bank’s advisory approach. Aladdin is widely used across the investment industry to support portfolio analysis, risk management and investment decisions, giving advisers technology that can complement their own expertise.
Affluent banking in Northern Europe
Affluent banking in Denmark and across Northern Europe is entering a period in which wealthy clients increasingly expect a mix of personal advice, digital convenience and more tailored investment solutions. McKinsey’s 2026 Affluent and Wealth Management Customers’ Insights Survey, which included Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden among 15 European markets and gathered responses from 5,490 people, points to changing client needs and growing pressure on wealth managers to improve relevance and personalisation. At the same time, the wider wealth management industry is being reshaped by technology, changing investor expectations and greater access to private markets, with PwC forecasting strong growth in affluent wealth and private market revenues through 2030. This is creating an opportunity for Nordic banks to use technology to give advisers a fuller view of client portfolios and deliver more timely investment recommendations.
