Calastone, the largest global funds network, has appointed Nick Parsons as its new chief technology officer (CTO).
In his new role as CTO, Parsons will be responsible for Calastone’s technology operations as well as product strategy and development.
Describing Parsons as a “proven technology leader”, Calastone hopes to leverage his more than three-decade-long experience in the IT and asset management industry, particularly within the financial sector solutions for fund managers, wealth managers and administrators.
Before joining Calastone, Parsons held various senior leadership roles at Bravura Solutions, including CTO, chief operating officer and CEO. Prior to that, he served as CTO for DST Global Solutions (now part of SS&C), where he was responsible for driving technical innovation across a diverse product range.
Julien Hammerson, CEO at Calastone, said Parson’s “exceptional industry experience, deep technological expertise, and proven track record of strategic leadership will play an important role in strengthening Calastone’s senior leadership team”.
“The funds industry is undergoing a major transition to digitalisation. As our network continues to grow, Nick will be instrumental in leading our future technology strategy as we expand the business into new verticals and continue to support our clients through the next phase of automation.”
The company has also appointed Adam Belding as chief architect, where he will be responsible for leading Calastone’s digital investments programme and collaborating with clients to enable new digital ‘tokenised’ investment models.
“Adam will play a critical role as Chief Architect in leading the funds industry into a new era, which will see tokenised investment vehicles become the standard,” Hammerson added.
Connecting the world’s leading financial organisations, Calastone claims it is the largest global funds network, creating new ways to automate and digitalise the global investment funds marketplace, reducing frictional costs and lowering operational risk for all and making investing more accessible. It boasts of over 4,000 clients in 55 countries and territories, processing £250 billion of investment value each month. Calastone is headquartered in London and has offices in Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, New York, Milan and Sydney.
