November 6, 2024 – New York – BNY Mellon, a global leader in investment management and services, today announced the appointment of Fabian Khoshbakht as the new Head of Treasury Services for Asia Pacific (APAC), effective immediately. Khoshbakht will oversee the strategy, governance, and execution of BNY’s Treasury Services business across the dynamic APAC region, which includes key markets in payments, liquidity, and trade finance. This expanded role builds on his current position as Head of Client Insight and Innovation for Treasury Services, underscoring BNY Mellon’s commitment to advancing financial solutions for clients in Asia Pacific.
In his new role, Khoshbakht will focus on driving strategic growth initiatives for BNY’s Treasury Services across Asia Pacific, fostering deeper client engagement and strengthening the company’s market position across payments, liquidity, and trade finance. Khoshbakht brings over 25 years of extensive experience in treasury services, having held key leadership roles in Australia, Singapore, and the United States. As part of this new position, he will relocate from the U.S. to Singapore, allowing him to work closely with BNY Mellon’s APAC teams and key stakeholders.
Khoshbakht’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for BNY Mellon, as the company continues to expand its presence and capabilities in the Asia Pacific region. Recently, BNY Mellon announced a landmark agreement with Mizuho Bank and a strategic collaboration with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) to facilitate near real-time cross-border payments for Australian businesses and individuals.
