Hong Kong, July 2025 – Barclays has announced a series of leadership appointments across its Asia Pacific Investment Banking division.
The reshuffle follows the recent appointment of Avinash Thakur as Head of Investment Banking, Asia Pacific, and is aimed at aligning the bank’s senior talent with growth opportunities across core regional markets.
The new appointments, effective immediately, are as follows:
- Richard Satchwell has been appointed Head of Capital Markets Financing, Asia Pacific. Most recently, he was Australia Country CEO and Head of Investment Banking, Australia. He will relocate to Singapore to lead the region’s debt and equity financing activities.
- Duncan Connellan will assume the role of Head of Investment Banking, Australia.
- David Henderson has been named CEO of BBPLC Australia.
- Ee-Ching Tay has been appointed Head of M&A, Asia Pacific, while continuing in her role as Head of Investment Banking, Southeast Asia.
- Arun Saigal is now Head of Investment Banking, India, in addition to his current responsibilities as Head of Financing and M&A in India.
- Pramod Kumar will continue as CEO of BBPLC India and will also take on the additional role of Vice Chairman, Investment Banking, Asia Pacific, subject to regulatory approval.
Other senior leaders including Sushir Lohia (Head of Risk Solutions Group, Asia Pacific), Yuzo Otsuka (Head of Investment Banking, Japan), and Raymond Yu (Head of Investment Banking, Greater China) will continue in their current roles as part of the regional leadership team.
