As the financial services industry recovers from a challenging albeit fast evolving post- pandemic environment, new competitive pressures, reduced margins and operational challenges are emerging that are likely to shape both consumer and institutional payment experiences. Taking stock of the speed at which conventional payment models have been disrupted, traditional payment service providers are hard pressed to rethink their existing business models and adapt to a fast and seamless approach.
The shift towards instant, real-time payments has also necessitated banks to modernise their infrastructure as customers continually seek convenience, security and ease in conducting their various financial transactions. With the ensuing transition to ISO2022, integration of cross-border payment infrastructures and launch of domestic payment rails globally the payments landscape is poised for considerable change.
Now, more than ever, it is imperative that payment institutions deliver exceptional instant payment experiences through innovative business models and services or otherwise risk being disrupted.
