Nikos Angelopoulos joins Nedbank as new CIO

Nedbank has announce the appointment of Nikos Angelopoulos as Group Chief Information Officer, effective 1 September 2026.

In a statement posted on Linkedin, Nedbank said Angelopoulos brings with him more than 30 years of international technology leadership experience across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas, including deep expertise in technology strategy, digital transformation, cloud, data and artificial intelligence.

Prior to joining Nedbank, he served as Group Chief Information Officer at MTN Group, where he led technology strategy, investment and governance across 16 markets.

“As we continue to accelerate our strategic priorities and strengthen the role of digital, data, AI and innovation in delivering exceptional client experiences, Nikos’s leadership will be instrumental in driving our technology ambitions forward. We look forward to the impact he will make as we continue building a future-ready organisation that delivers sustainable value for our clients, colleagues and stakeholders,” Nedbank said in the statement.
